Beach Baby

Day 2 of our Destin/Ft. Walton vacation began on Monday morning.  We got up around 7 and headed to the beach around 8:30.  Nicholas LOVED the sand and played in it for a couple of hours.  He loved just walking in it and taking it in his hands and just sifting it.

He and Daddy even went down to the water to try it out and to see if they could build a sand castle...
Nicholas was ok with the wet sand and even sitting near the water, but our normally waterloving baby did NOT like the ocean.  He screamed everytime we got him near the water. Ha!
After lunch we decided to try out the zero-entry, splash park at our resort.  It was right by our room and perfect for a baby that LOVES water!
He played, and he played, and he played for the next three hours...

He finally crashed around 4:30 for a nap.  We all slept until close to 6:30 and Michael, Nicholas, and I went to The Crab Trap.  It has always been one of my favorites, but this time it was not as good.  I was really disappointed.  Next time we will be trying some new places.  Nicholas wore his smocked crab shortall and looked so cute!
He ate off of my fried seafood platter and even had a few fried oysters! Again, this kid will eat anything!
After dinner we drove over to Destin to walk down the Harborwalk and visit some stores in the village while sipping on margaritas.  Nicholas loved all of the activity and happenings going on around him.  I think he would have stayed later, but it was 9:00 and we needed to get our little water baby back to the condo and ready for another big day ahead!
 Day 3 coming up tonight...
