What To Wear?

I'm needing your help again! I am having a hard time finding maternity clothes that I really like or that fit well. My friend Courtney (THANK YOU!!!!) brought me some cute things last night and I can't wait to try them on tonight, but I need a few more things. Give me all the tips you have. Where to buy, what brands were the best, and what items did you enjoy the most? I am completely out of my jeans, my sweaters all look too tight, and most of my t-shirts look like I am just fat! Ha!

HELP!

Hopefully some of the things I sent will work out okay. They all worked great for me! Kohls has great prices, Motherhood Maternity but I hate their return policy, and Target. Kohls was always my favorite. Their prices were great. I just didn't want to spend a lot because of it being temporary. Oh yes, motherhood maternity has some cute dresses during the summer :)

Khols, Motherhood, Old Navy, target, Gap (they have the best summer stuff), and Forever 21. I know F21 sounds weird but they have loose tops and dresses that worked. I also just bought some things at regular stores a size bigger and wore them.

I found tons of awesome things at Ross but I did want to tell you that I HATED the jeans I bought from JCPenney. The belly band folded in half inside the band and it was terrible and I could never fix it. I would never recommend buying jeans from JCPenney.

My favorite was Gap and Old Navy. They have a bigger selection on-line. Love Gap maternity jeans. They are made to look like regular jeans but have adjustable waist, or a short cute band. I hated pants with the huge belly band. I also wore lots of regular shirts in bigger sizes, like the babydoll shirts that are popular. Target has cute stuff on-line as well.

I actually liked the Two Hearts brand from SEARS. I also wear scrubs everyday, so I didn't buy alot of maternity clothes. If you buy jeans don't buy the ones with the full panel on the front. Towards the end of your pregnancy, they will become VERY uncomfortable.

Gap, Old Navy and Motherhood. Mainly I shopped at a local boutique though!
Loved my maternity Citizen jeans. I LIVED in them! Ebay might have some at a great price!

Old Navy and Gap. Try on for size at the store, but buy online - usually there is a better selectionand better deals. I bought a few things at Target (Liz Lange) with both my pregnancies, but was not impressed with the quality either time. I actually found some good things at walmart.com also. My philsophy on maternity clothes is to not spend a ton of money so Old Navy and Gap fit that perfectly. I have friends who found great deals on Ebay. I am super petite, so I didn't try that. BUT, I think it is important to buy some things that you feel and look really great in, even if you spend a bit more. It does wonders for your confidence, which often needs a boost when you are preggo and feel uncomfy and fat sometimes. Maybe a really great pair for jeans for example. Who cares if you wash them all the time? They don't have to last forever. Lastly, style is really in the preggo girl's favor right now. Tops are really flowy and roomy. I wore many non-maternity tops right up until the end because of the roomy cut.

I love finding things at Ross, because they are usually less expensive. Also, my fave jeans are Liz Lange from Target! They have different styles, cuts, etc. Finding shirts has always been hard for me, because I don't like the super touchy shirts...but I don't want to look like I'm wearing my husband's either.

I alwyas llikes gettign a few good tops -short sleeved since you will still be pregnant in the warm months - then you can pair them with regular cardigans or jackets that you already have - stretches the wardrobe a little. I have never commented before but I do enjoy reading your blog

I can't believe you are already wearing maternity clothes! and at 15 weeks?? wow! I would hold off on maternity clothes until your third trimester unless you absolutely need them. Otherwise just buy the looser fitting clothes and use the bella bands! They are great!Your belly will get a lot bigger than what it already is now. Another tip. Continue exercising every day for at least 30 minutes. Nothing too strenuous but it will help out in the long run with labor as well as getting back into shape. If you are not going to breast feed it will take you even longer to get back into shape as breast feeding can burn up to 500 calories. Good luck!

Gap, Motherhood maternity and for nice things Ann Taylor loft now carries maternity. It's a bit pricey, but has some nice things that last a long time! Be sure to buy things in your prepregnancy size... don't get bigger sizes just because you think you will get bigger, they already know that when they make the clothes!

Hope this helps! Maternity clothes have come a long way :)

I was cheap, and didn't buy much of anything, but I found mine at Walmart, JcPenney, and Kmart. We don't have a lot of shopping choices around here!

i always did well at Kohls and Motherhood Maternity. Kohls had the better deals with sales and coupons. i was on bed rest for most of my pregnancy so i wore a lot of tshirts and sweats. i also went to a few consignment shops and found several nice pieces or craigslist women selling their maternity close after babies.

Of course it has been many years since I had to buy stuff, but I didnt buy many maternity shirts. Just bought bigger sizes! You can pull off a cute look with bigger size! Show that belly off, it is priceless! Little tight shirts with sweater over it is so cute!.
And I can not believe you are 15 weeks already. You will feel that baby move soon! Drink some OJ!

I heart maternity clothes! I start wearing them as soon as I can!!!

In town, Kohl's has a nice selection. I steer clear of Motherhood, and I've never liked the way Target's maternity clothes fit me. JCPenney and Sears have some halfway decent stuff.

But my favorite is Gap maternity, which you can only buy online here where we live. It used to be that you could buy it online and return it to the store if you didn't like it, but now you have to return it through the mail, which stinks b/c it's extra shipping. But they do have a flat $7 shipping fee on your whole order, or free shipping if you have a Gap card.

And I just got an email today from them that if you use the code GAPEXTRA20 on most items that are *already* on sale, you get an extra 20% off. That promotion ends this Fri, the 22nd, so go look now! It's also good on select men's, women's, and baby items. There are some super cute onesies on there! I ordered two tops for me. I loooove their jeans. Esp b/c they come in long lengths.

Okay, enough. Go shop. :)

Oh, and I wanted to say that I happen to looooove the full paneled jeans, the ones most women hate. Especially the middle and the end of my pregnancies. Gap's are the best. I absolutely love them. Hate the hidden or demi panel except at the very beginning. Just saying, you have to try things out for yourself. You might love or hate different things! :)
