Baby Books

UPDATE: After looking at some more sites and doing some more researching, I decided to go ahead and make my own. I love to scrapbook and there is just so much more I want to put in his book than the ones you can buy. This way it will be exactly what I want! Thanks for all of your help!

Ok, I need your help again girls! I am on the lookout for the perfect baby book. I really wanted to make my own, but I am challenged in that area. I wouldn't even know where to start and when I go back to work I'm afraid it would suffer and never get finished. Where have you found your baby's memory book? I'm having such a hard time finding just the right thing that I am almost ready to make my own.

I got one for my shower, its a Carter's one that is pretty much adorable :) It had everything I need and not too much that I don't which is hard to find in baby books. I have also heard of good ones on Etsy. If I didn't get one, I would have probably ordered one of there.

I love the book Our Baby's First Seven Years published by the Mother's Aid of Chicago Lying-in Hospital. This baby book has been used by three generations of my family - my grandma used it for my mom, my mom for me and I have one for each of my boys. It has been in print since the 20's - so you know they are on to something - hah! What I love about it is that is is in a three ring binder, so if you get super crafty you can add in scrapbook pages, or you can get those clear plastic pages with pockets and keep things organized. Also, as Nicholas gets older you can hole punch school projects, etc. to add. I love that the proceeds of the books go to help support the hospital and medical research for moms and babies. My only issue, if I have to have one, is that the cover is not necessarily the most attractive (compared to some other books), but if that is a big deal, you can just buy a different photo album type binder that you like better and just transfer the pages over. Anyway, give it a look.

I really love The Story of Me by Perfect Memories. It's expensive, but it goes through college graduation. It's not overwhelming, but includes the most important stuff. And it's a 3-ring binder, so I've added in extra stuff I wanted to include. Plus, it's really pretty and looks great sitting out on a shelf. I have the front monogrammed with Shepherd's name, and there's a fabric-covered frame to put a picture. I ordered mine online at www.myperfectmemories.com

I really like the one that I got with my 1st boy...so much so that I ordered the exact same one (with a different picture on the front) when I had my 2nd. Here is the link: http://www.baby-memory-books.com/Baby_Carriage_Baby_Book_Boy_by_Penny_Laine_p/pl-babybook01.htm
I love it because in the back, there is a pocket to put a note from mommy and a note from daddy, which totally inspired me to write a handwritten note to him every few months just to tell him how very much we love him.
That website has tons of cute, cute memory books! Hope you find one that you absoluted love...happy searching!!

I made my daughter's using www.mixbook.com. It isn't expensive and is awesome to use. I got ideas on pages from other baby books. Good luck!
