9 Weeks and A Grape

How far along? 9 weeks

How big is Baby? about one ounce and the size of a green grape
Total weight gain/loss: about 5 pounds (although I have no clue how, I throw up everything!)
Maternity clothes? I bought a pair of jeans and corduroys last night. I have had to unbutton my regular ones. :-(
Stretch marks? No, let's pray it stays that way!
Sleep: I go to sleep around 10:00 at the latest, wake up around 2, 5, and then for good at 6:30. Most nights I have a hard time going back to sleep when I wake up for my potty break. I have no idea why, I am EXHAUSTED!
Best moment this week: Making it to 9 weeks, the official longest I've ever been pregnant!!!
Movement: From what I read, yes, but of course too soon to feel it.
Food cravings: I just want to eat anything right now! Ha! I am not someone that has ever had a weak stomach, never been carsick or motion sick, so this is blowing my mind! I can't ever think of anything I want to eat, nothing sounds good.
Gender: Too soon to know, but I could care less!
Labor Signs: none, thank goodness!
Belly Button in or out? In and I pray it stays that way. Ha!
What I am looking forward to: Making another post like this next Wednesday! I am just living day to day and saying a prayer daily thanking God for giving me another day.
Milestones: hitting 9 weeks!

Every week on Wednesday you can check in for my weekly post! Here is my 1st official belly shot. Please ignore the SEVERE bloat I have going on and the fact I have on my scrubs from work. It was a long day! TMI, but I am SO constipated I can barely function. Does anyone have any advice on that. I've done it all, colace, fiber, ducolax, nothing works. Also, does anyone have any good tips for 24/7 all day sickness (I refuse to call it morning sickness when I am puking from my nose at 10:00 at night! Ha!). I also want to say that in all of my nausea, vomiting, and constipation, I give God thanks and pray for another day just like it if it means Baby Ledford is growing strong.

I was the queen of sick. I used to carry a plastic bag with me. Nasty. I was sick for nine months with my first, but had amazingly easy labors.

My friend ate shredded wheat every morning for breakfast and had to use (I know this is gross) enemas. There were some approved for women who are pregnant. The thought of using an enema is not cool, but she said it was totally worth it!

I know your prenatal vitamins can make you very constipated, my sister in law is 17 weeks preggo and while she was early on, she had to switch prenatal vitamins to make her not so constipated. The nausea is something that if you keep something on your stomach it does make you feel better, get up first thing and try to even eat crackers, when nothing is on your stomach, it makes it worse!!

Praying for you and so happy for you both. Just remember these moments are so worth it!!!

Congratulations on expecting your little bundle of joy!!! I am so happy for you. I was so blessed not to have morning sickness with any of my 3 pregnancies I feel so sorry for you. The iron in the PNV constipated me though so I only took them every other day. Ask your ob doc though. Try eating Bean n Bacon soup it always works for me!! I wish you all the best.
I enjoy reading your blog. You are in my thoughts and prayers!! I am also an RN you are so fortunate to not to work weekends!!

I'm so excited for belly pics and Wednesday updates!!!! My pregnancy advice for being stopped up... LOTS of water and less cheese. And, Peppermint tea works for nausea. :)

One good thing my doctor told me about being sick 24/7 for my entire pregnancy, was it meant a healthy baby growing inside of me. Not like that makes it all better, but it helps some! Zofran is very expensive but works awesome. You can also take milk of magnesia for constipation while being pregnant, so you may try that, and I ate Activa yogurt everyday.

I am praying for you and Baby Ledford. Hang in there. The pure exhaustion last through the first trimester, and then it gets a little better.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this post!!! I'm SO HAPPY for you!! You look just beautiful. Stretch marks--I had NONE until 36 weeks. Then I woke up one morning and it looked like my stomach had exploded--stretch marks everywhere. Oh well. I faithfully put anti-stretch mark cream on my stomach faithfully twice a day every single day of my pregnancy--all for nothing, I guess :) It doesn't matter--I'm with you--I'll take any and all symptoms with a glad heart. Being pregnant has been possibly the happiest 9 months of my life--I pray the same for you!!

I love this idea. I look forward to your weekly post! I LOVE pregnant women & babies...haha might be why I am thinking of becomming an L&D or PP nurse after graduation in May & going back to get my Master's to be a women's health nurse practitioner.

I too was sick all day long, the whole pregnancy! Misery, but a comforting discomfort- it just reminded me I had a healthy baby and I was so blessed to be carrying her. Some days, when I did feel better, I even got nervous because I had become so accustomed to it! None of the meds worked for me, so the best advice I can offer- eat as frequently as possible (usually small meals/snacks)- and lots of protein! I always had protein bars, cheese, beans, eggs, etc. If I could get some food in before it got too bad, it was sometimes better. It didn't always help, but it did help some. Also, Sonic slushes! They were an almost daily thing! And perhaps, even more than that ;) Also, the preggie drops (motherhood maternity sells them), but I usually just sucked on lemon drops as they were less than half the price and essentially the same thing. Taco Bell amazingly made my tummy feel better quite often too. And I usually hate Taco Bell! I also had to avoid Walmart and all grocery stores at all costs for over 3 months- can you say a dwindling grocery bill?! And if all else fails- make sure you are no more than a few feet from a bathroom at all times! Or at least have a plastic bag nearby! Everyone's pregnancy is different, so you will just have try and see what works! You too know the gift that you are carrying and know that it is all worth it! Good luck and I hope this passes for you soon!

Love the pic!! We get one every Wednesday from now on!! FUN!!!
You must find what works for you, but with my middle child I was horribly sick for months! My OB told me that all the prescription nausea drugs I was on listed constipation as a side effect. I used an enema for the inital 'get going' moment. After that, if I drank an entire 16oz of water with two fiber tablets before every meal, I would be okay...and I started buying it in bulk at Costco! :)

PlumStart juice worked for me and my neighbor for constipation. Good luck and congratulations!

Love the first belly pic! Have you tried prune juice? My grandma always said it 'keeps you regular'. HA!

I'm looking forward to all your upcoming Wednesday posts! As for nausea, Zofran really did wonders for me. It didn't relieve all the sickness but it at least made it where I could get through the day. Also, I ate all the time (even if I wasn't hungry).

You will be glad you did later in life.
Congrats again and look forward to sharing this time with you!!!!!

The morning sickness combined with the constipation is miserable! With this pregnancy, I lived on fruit and activia yogurt the first few months and that seemed to help - also drinking a hot drink in the morning either with my breakfast or directly after. I second the peppermint tea - it seemed to soothe the nausea!

Sucking on sour candy helped as well as sipping on water when I would get that "feeling" that I was going to get sick!

And when nothing works and you still feel miserable, just remember that it is all worth it & "this too shall pass!" HUGS, dear!!!

forgot to add that with my first pregnancy, I was sick the first 5-6 months - my dr. recommended drinking those nutrition shakes (at the time, I drank slim fast, but I think there are different ones out there now). He said that even if I threw them up, some of those vitamins and goodies would still be absorbed into my system & help me feel better!

I can definitely see that baby bump! How exciting!!! I'm SO happy for you! I can only imagine how happy you must feel. I can't wait to read about it every Wednesday.

Zofran!!!! But let me say it can add to the constipation. The lowest dose of Zofran is 4mg. I cut them in half and usually take two halves a day. It works well for me. 22wks and still having severe morning sickness. For constipation, I have found that fresh fruit or salad works well, and it is really the only thing that tastes acceptable. None of the meds worked well for me either.

I wish I had some advice for you on the constipation but I don't! I had it the entire pregnancy. Fun times. You look great and YAHOO! for 9 weeks!

Congrats! I was constipated as well. My OBGYN told me Sennekot was a great option,as it is natural without any stimulants. Needless to say it worked like a charm. Good luck! Praying for you!
