Baby Goes To The Beach, Day 1

Since last April (as in before Nicholas was even here!) my parents and I started planning his first beach vacation.  That trip finally arrived early Sunday morning.  We got Nicholas out of bed and left the house at 5:45 and met my parents at the interstate at 6:00 am.  We almost got to Birmingham before our littlest traveler woke up and wanted breakfast...now!  We stopped at Cracker Barrel and ordered him the kids pancake with apples plus a sausage patty...he ate it ALL!  He seriously has the appetite of an adult, but is only in the 25th percentile for weight. Go figure!
We got back on the road and TMI, but Nicholas had a rocephin shot on Friday for another ear infection (more on that another day), so he had some serious diarrhea on the way.  We had to make 2 unscheduled stops for that.  We finally made it to Florida around noon!  I took this picture for his scrapbook.
We went to eat my favorite fried shrimp at The Lucky Snapper.  It was tasty, but the best part was watching Nicholas watch the boats coming in and out of the Harbor.

He had his first bites of shrimp here.  Loved them...of course!
I think the view here is so fun.  It overlooks the Harbor and Harborwalk.
We got to our hotel just in time for baby blowout #2 and 3.  Bless it!  However, we did take a quick walk down to the beach and someone LOVED the sand...

That night Michael and I went to AJ's for some oysters and we all went to bed early for a big day of fun in the sun on the beach on Monday.  Come back tomorrow for day 2...
