Dr. Appt Update

I NEVER blog from work, but I just had to get your take on this. The only thing he saw that could be causing my pain was multiple follicles (at least two) with probable ovary irritation. With that said, should I freak about the possibility of multiples? I know this is actually a wonderful blessing, but I am just thinking about all the risks that come with multiples and with a clotting disorder, I would be definite high risk for a major life threatening problem. Also, there is the financial aspect of it. Anyway, I am very thankful that at least it is working so far and will take whatever blessing God gives me. I go back next Thursday on CD 15 for my follicle study to see if I have a dominant follicle...he said I will DEFINITELY have at least one.

Has anyone had multiple mature follicles with clomid and only have one baby? Thanks for all your help!

I had several follicles that were mature, but I only had one child at a time! This is after being on clomid as well. Be excited, don't stress.

I would love to see your dad holding triplet grandchildren!! :)

You could handle it, and I know you know that I have no earthly idea what any medical stuff you just wrote means. But it sounds promising!

Also - I gave my friend Lena your blog address. She just miscarried and is looking for people to talk to. She might be messaging you.

Clomid has a very low rate of multiples. I took if for 3 cycles, it didn't work for me, but when I started it my doctor said he had just delivered his first set of multiples from Clomid in his 19 years of OB. I wouldn't worry to much. I do actually have twins but that is do to IVF. But even though I had a rough pregnancy and delivered 11 weeks early, I wouldn't change it for the world. They are a blast, and if you are meant to have multiples God will bless you with them no matter what, and he will help you out with all the other aspects of them! Praying for you in Arkansas.

Hi Amanda! I've never commented before, but I had my baby with Clomid and IUI 20 months ago. With Clomid, it is very common to have multiple folicles. For the first 4 cycles, I always had multiple folicles but only 1 dominant folicle that could produce an egg. On my 5th cycle, I had 2 dominant folicles & then had 1 baby. I really wouldn't worry about having multiples. I think it is pretty uncommon to have more than twins with Clomid. Good Luck!!!

Multiple follicles is very very common with Clomid. I ALWAYS had at least 2 dominant, sometimes up to 3 or 4. I know that is one of the general concerns with Clomid, but even so, it's extremely rare to have more than twins on Clomid. Hope that helps. And also, Clomid made me a walking train wreck for a year--it's a very very difficult drug to deal with. I pray you continue to feel pretty good and have minimal pain/anxiety with it--and SUCCESS!!
