Welcome to our temporary blog until I can get Life With The Ledfords back up and running (read: new mac!). First off let me give everyone the update. We have decided to move in with my parents until the house is finished (AT LEAST 4-6 months). It is not ideal, we know, but it will be a cheaper alternative. We are in the process of getting a computer there (their's is my old one that has recently crapped out, of course!), so for right now I will only be updating during the week during the day. I am going to have SERIOUS blog withdrawal!!! I may have to drive 25 minutes to work to check all of your blogs during the weekend!
We are still waiting on the claims adjust to call. He is working his way from Atlanta to Ringgold (about 90 miles) so it may take awhile. We have been told to expect him sometime next week. That leads to the biggest bummer of all (well, other than the initial bummer of actually be one of the 1 in 200,o00,000 that will actually have lightening strike their house!), I cannot do anything with any item in the house that we do not need for daily living. Meaning, any of the Christmas gifts that I had there, I cannot check to see if they are damaged; I cannot start packing any of my collectables up (I will pack those myself and store those at my parents); I cannot even move the tarps the firemen placed over the furniture to check for damage. It is so hard not knowing at just how much damage to our belongings we have.
Also, a big shout out to Kelly for asking her readers to pray for us! She is such a wonderful person and friend! I know that her blog is read by 100s a day, so God will hear from many praying for us now!!!! Words cannot express how grateful I am for her doing that!!!! Kelly, I am so blessed to have you as a friend! When all this is over, I am coming to Arkansas to see Harper!!!!! :-)
Please check back on Monday for pictures!!!! I am going to have to find my cord for my camera in all of my mess!

i'm so sorry to hear about your house! i will be praying for you guys.
my family has been living at my in-laws house for the last 5 months while we looked for a home of our own, and during that time my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's house was ruined in hurricane ike, so they moved in too. we definitely know what you mean by not being ideal, but i have to say it turned out to be a huge blessing for this season! i know this must be such a hard time but i will be praying that God shows you some blessings that come out of it.
Bless your heart! Your parents are so sweet to open their home to you. It may not be ideal, but it will definitely save money. We will be praying!!!!
Praying for ya'll, Amanda!!!!
I am praying hard for you. Just keep your head up. It will work out.
